A blend of vegetable garden, native plants and, per the homeowners request, room for annual flowers. 0.44 acre property has 10 rain gardens of various sizes from a few square feet to 100ft2 between the front and back yards built into garden beds. These rain gardens help to remedy serious stormwater and drainage issues and reduce mosquito presence. 130 gallons of rainwater storage in 2 cisterns supply water to parts of the garden without easily access by hose.

We like to call this a native plant “collector’s garden” and throughout the space one can find 171 different species of native perennials, shrubs and trees.
